As the daylight fades, the forest starts to feel a little different. Join your guides for an evening hike through the woods as we explore some of the darker stories connected to the Great Lakes. Along the trail, you’ll hear tales of ghost towns swallowed by the forest, ships lost to the storms, lonely graveyards, and the people whose lives were shaped by these unforgiving waters. The Great Lakes have claimed thousands of vessels over the centuries, earning them a reputation as the “Graveyard of the Great Lakes.” But the stories aren’t just about shipwrecks. They’re also stories of communities that disappeared, lives cut short, and places where the past still seems to linger. As darkness settles in, keep your eyes and ears open. You never know what you might encounter along the way. This is a guided hike that blends local history, storytelling and a little bit of the unexplained. Come for the stories. Stay for the atmosphere. And maybe don't wander too far from your group. Hike rating: Intermediate Distance: 7 km Duration: Approximately 3 hours Cost: $35.50 + tax per person Cost includes parking permit. Please note: This is an outdoor, evening hike on natural terrain. Participants should be prepared for uneven ground, changing weather conditions and limited daylight. Waiver and participant registration must be completed prior to departure.
